iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C Portable Genius Free Download
My 13 year old granddaughter will be getting an iPhone5C from Santa this year. She is used to PCs and Android systems.She also has an iPod, so she is somewhat familiar with Apple products.
She is pretty quick technically, but she will be the only one in the family to have an iPhone, so we won't be able to quickly help her with specifics. This book gives her everything she needs and more.
It shows her right away how to start using her phone by going through the buttons and what they do; how to use the keyboard; how to use the touchscreen, etc. Once past the very basics, it shows her how to customize the phone and applications. It discusses security, such as locking the phone. It then shows how to configure the phone with built in apps like Siri.
The book then goes through basics like connecting to WiFi, using the phone as a hotspot for other devices, it gives Bluetooth info. Once the phone is configured it discusses its use as a telephone, everything you want to know from cell speeds to dialing.
The next chapter discusses web surfing and e-mail.
The book then goes on to explain syncing the phone with computers and other devices, and discusses how to handle media on the phone.
A whole chapter is spent on using and optimizing the audio features of the phone and using iTunes.
Next is using the camera and video features of the phone.
The next chapter discusses managing contacts and appointments, which is not of much interest to a 13 year old, I think.
Chapter 11 discusses maps and GPS. It will be great to have her use the GPS system for me when we are driving somewhere unknown. She is already pretty good at doing this on my phone, but the book will give her much better know how.
The next chapter discusses e-books.
