Unlike other dry business books, this refreshing, straightforward guide from Logo Design Love author and international designer David Airey answers the questions all designers have when first starting out on their own. In fact, the book was inspired by the many questions David receives every day from the more than 600,000 designers who visit his three blogs each month.
How do I find new clients? How much should I charge for my design work? When should I say no to a client? How do I handle difficult clients? What should I be sure to include in my contracts?
David’s readers–a passionate and vocal group–regularly ask him these questions and many more on how to launch and run their own design careers. With this book, David finally answers their pressing questions with anecdotes, case studies, and sound advice garnered from his own experience as well as those of such well-known designers as Ivan Chermayeff, Jerry Kuyper, Maggie Macnab, Eric Karjaluoto, and Von Glitschka. Designers just starting out on their own will find this book invaluable in succeeding in today’s hyper-networked, global economy.Download latest books on mediafire and other links compilation Work for Money, Design for Love: Answers to the Most Frequently Asked Questions About Starting and Running a Successful Design Business (Voices That Matter) [Kindle Edition] Free Download

I have followed David's blog for a couple of years now and also read his first book Logo Design Love so this was a no brainer for me. If you are familiar with David's writing, then you won't be surprised to hear that this book is an easy read. David always keeps things simple and easy to understand. I'd say about half of the book is his experience and the other half are contributions from fellow designers who started their own design businesses. There are some really valuable insights in the book and some of the best ones are more about what not to do.
Starting a business of any kind is a huge undertaking. If you are starting a design business, this covers pretty much everything you need to get started. Chances are you will make mistakes along the way so read this book and hopefully you'll make less of them.

David Airey is a designer and writer based in Ireland. In 2009 he published his first book Logo Design Love. It was a runaway success and belongs on the bookshelf of any decent design studio. Now he's back again...
Aimed squarely at designers looking to take the plunge and start a design company, 'Work For Money, Design For Love' is a treasure trove of insights, advice and guidance on the fine details of getting a design business off the ground. David and a number of contributors share their stories and explain how these formative experiences shaped their careers as designers.
Largely due to his social media output, David has no shortage of connections, and had called on a number of talented creative types to get involved with the book. A range of designer-y folk who all share their thoughts, opinions, tales and advice on doing it for yourself.
It's a well considered, entertaining and superbly written guide to the ups and downs of setting up a creative business. More than simply telling people what to do, the book aims to share the stories of David and others who have been through it themselves, and what they learned along the way.
